For
underground haulage applications, Powertrailers™
are matched with Powertrucks™
Haulage systems are available in capacities from 55 tonnes (Powertruck™ with Powertrailer™), to 85 tonnes (Powertruck™ with one Powertrailer™ and one tow trailer), and up to 100 tonnes (Powertruck™ with two Powertrailers™).
Powertrans’ underground haulage systems can haul out of underground declines at significantly higher speeds than conventional underground haulers. Typical haul speeds up a 14% incline are 15 km/h, compared with 8 km/h by conventional haulers.
On arrival at the surface, a Powertrans underground system can haul any distance, at a sustained speed of 50 km/h, to a processing or stockpile area.
As with Powertrans surface haulage systems, all Powertrans underground systems use readily available off-highway light earthmoving tyres, which do not normally have the TKPH restrictions associated with large earthmoving tyres.
Powertrans’ latest haulage system is its model T1244 underground Mine Development Truck™. This versatile truck is initially intended for use in material removal and infrastructure development during an underground mine’s development phase.
The T1244 is an economical alternative to underground articulated dump trucks, offering higher haul speeds (both up inclines and on the surface), reduced up-front capital cost and lower operating costs.
Once a mine’s development phase is complete, it is a simple matter to convert a T1244 into a Powertrans underground mine haulage system by adding one or more Powertrailers™ and tow trailers.
In addition, there are plans to offer the T1244 with three body options for greater versatility: side tip, rear tip and ejector body.
